Last night, the Dame paid homage to royalty, His Royal Badness, Prince.

Helen Mirren arrived at the 2016 White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday, donning a semi-sheer, purple gown and a purple, hand-drawn tattoo, which commemorated the unpronounceable symbol Prince (who then embraced the alias, "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince") assumed during his fight to break free of his former record label, Warner Bros.

Mirren told The Washington Post that she wanted to honor the musical supernova, whose untimely death at 57 sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, and inspired scores of purple tributes around the world. "I admire great artists and he was a great artist," the British actress said.
