Be cautious of fake tickets if you're attending RodeoHouston this year

Harris County Precinct One Constable Alan Rosen said he's received several calls of people selling fake rodeo tickets online.

HOUSTON — Heads up! If you're attending RodeoHouston this year, be cautious of fake tickets.

Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen said he's received several calls of people selling fake rodeo tickets online.

"People that are starting brand new accounts that just started two days ago or three days ago and they're selling tickets to something, it's highly probable that it's a scam and people are being scammed, unfortunately," Rosen said.

He recommends verifying any tickets sold by someone online or going straight to the source.

"I would definitely buy the tickets on-site there," Ryan Weis, with RodeoHouston, said. "There are ticket boxes on the corners of coming in."

Weis said you should always visit their official website for information.

Staying safe at RodeoHouston

Law enforcement will be present to make sure everyone enjoys themselves on the rodeo grounds. Additional security and medical staff will also be nearby.

"We also have on the barbecue group, we have a safety and security team that does walking rounds," Weis said. "And then for rodeo, we also have our medical team."

As usual, if you see something, make sure you say something.

"Be aware of your surroundings," Weis said.

And remember, don't drink and drive. It's always best to find a safe ride home if you plan on drinking at the rodeo.
