HOUSTON — KHOU 11 has been honored with three prestigious regional Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association.
CONTINUING COVERAGE
KHOU 11 honored in the Continuing Coverage category for their investigation into the Coffee City Police Department. Coffee City is a Texas town of about 250 people with 50 sworn police officers. That's five times the number of any town its size. Many of those officers have troubled pasts.

EXCELLENCE IN DIVERSITY, EQUALITY, AND INCLUSION
KHOU 11 was also honored for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for their third Juneteenth documentary. In “Juneteenth 2023: The Freedom to Learn,” KHOU 11 told the stories about African Americans’ fight for education after being denied for 250 years.
