Driver dies, passenger injured after being shot in west Houston, police say

HPD said they are working to get surveillance video or any information from both the Bellflower area and the gas station on Fondren.

HOUSTON — A man died after he drove himself and a passenger to a gas station after being shot at in west Houston early Sunday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.

Houston police said this all started on Bellflower Street just a few blocks away from Fondren Road and the Westpark Tollway.

Police said it looked like the victim was trying to get away from some unknown people.

“The suspects fired multiple rounds into the vehicle,” HPD Lt. Riley said. “Another vehicle, the victim's vehicle crashed into a gate at that location and fled to this location where one male succumbed to his injuries.”

Police said a passenger in the car with the victim was shot in the back at least one time. He has been taken to a hospital.

HPD said they are working to get surveillance video or any information from both the Bellflower area and the gas station on Fondren. A description of the shooter or shooters was not available.
