HOUSTON -- Workers at the Houston Zoo are working overtime to keep their animals safe and warm as the temperature plunges.
Zoo keepers put up heat lamps and special plastic tarps to protect the animals. Some are also being moved into heated barns.
Crews at the Houston SPCA were also busy Wednesday making sure the livestock will be warm and cozy when the cold weather hits.
Some of the horses will be housed in stalls.
They hope to provide protective, water-proof blankets to all the livestock. But they don t have enough.
If you have a spare blanket or two, you can drop them off at the SPCA at 900Portway.
