AUSTIN — Houston native Vince Young stole the show when he played Mother Ginger in Ballet Austin’s performance of “The Nutcracker.”
He was dressed in a massive red dress with a big wig and heavy makeup.

Young flashed the “hook ‘em” Horns sign while on stage.
Mother Ginger, the comical matriarch of the "Bon Bons" family, is being played by a different Austin celebrity each night.
She is typically played by a man because the “Bon Bon” children are hidden under her giant hoop skirt so the actor who plays her needs to be tall.
