HUNTSVILLE, Texas — A tornado touched down in Huntsville on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
The brief twister touched down a little before 6:30 p.m. near the Walmart there. The NWS says there was minor fence damage, a couple trees down and debris and carts blown around the parking lot.
A Twitter user captured video from the Walmart parking lot and responded to KHOU 11 Chief Meteorologist David Paul on Monday.
The unsettled weather is being caused of a stalled cold front, which is expected to bring more heavy rainfall to the area — especially northeast of Houston.
In Houston proper, we can expect scattered rain and storms late Tuesday into the early-morning hours Wednesday. View the Houston weather forecast update here.
