Airlines can rebook passengers flying out of Houston between July 7, 2024, and July 9, 2024, at no additional cost to the passenger.

HOUSTON — Houston Airports is working to restore operations after Hurricane Beryl forced airlines to cancel flights Monday morning at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU).

To restore operations fully, Houston Airports said it must first access its facilities and make any necessary repairs. Crews are clearing debris and fallen trees from Will Clayton Parkway at IAH and Airport Boulevard and Telephone Road near Hobby.

Houston Airports' 28 airline partners are updating their flight schedules. Some airlines are offering limited flights Monday night, with limited flights anticipated Tuesday.

Airlines can rebook passengers flying out of Houston between July 7, 2024, and July 9, 2024, at no additional cost to the passenger.

Airlines are returning planes to Houston Monday night to return Houstonians who are out of town and to be ready to restart limited flights Tuesday.

Getting to the airport may be a serious challenge. Officials advised travelers to verify the status of their flight before going to the airport.

Houston Airports said although the sun is out, Houstonians must recognize the "real risks" that come with trying to get to the airport in the immediate days after a hurricane.

Officials ask that travelers be patient as they may experience extended TSA and ticketing lines, limited concessions, amenities and essential service in the days following Beryl as employees may face challenges getting to work.
