CenterPoint says they've restored power to 98% of customers who lost it during or after Beryl

The company said it expects to be finished restoring to all customers who can get power by Friday.

HOUSTON — CenterPoint Energy posted an update on Wednesday, saying they’ve restored power to 98% of customers who lost it during Hurricane Beryl.

The power company also said they expect to restore power to all customers who can get it by this Friday, July 19.

If you’re in an area that’s still without power, it could be because of a couple of reasons.  First, if your weatherhead was damaged, you won’t be able to get power until a certified electrician fixes it. Your weatherhead is where electricity comes into your home.

You could also be part of a ‘nested outage,’ which is an area within an energized area that is out of power because of damage to fuses, transformers, electric lines or other issues.

KHOU 11 Investigates has been following the restoration process, asking questions of the people in charge at CenterPoint about response and their preparation.
