How cold weather affects your car and what to do about it

The return of cold weather to Texas means you will need to take extra time to check on your car before hitting the road.

HOUSTON — The return of cold weather means that you'll need to take extra time before hitting the road to check on your car.

The first tip is about tires. The tire pressure light inside your car might be on.

According to AAA, for every 10 degrees the temperature drops you're looking at one to two pounds of pressure dropping in your tires. If you don't check the pressure, that could lead to a blowout.
