HOUSTON — After a gloomy Thanksgiving and a sunny Friday afternoon, another round of showers and chilly temperatures will return next week. A low-pressure system is moving through the western U.S and is expected to bring showers back to Houston Saturday night into Sunday morning along with chilly temperatures.
If you are Christmas decorating, Saturday is the day to do it!
While the first half of Saturday is expected to be quiet and comfortable, highs are expected to reach the 60s. Clouds will increase, and isolated showers will move into southeast Texas Saturday afternoon ahead of Sunday's cold front.
Showers will become more scattered Saturday night into Sunday morning. There will be no risk for severe weather. Latest weather models are hinting that the front will reach Houston Sunday morning bringing gusty north winds and cooler temperatures.
Rain chances will diminish Sunday after the cold front sweeps through southeast Texas. However, winds will be breezy behind the front gusting from 20 to 25 mph Sunday afternoon, not ideal if you are hanging up the lights outdoors or putting up decorations on the lawn.
Temperatures will continue to drop Sunday night and Monday morning. Jackets will be necessary for folks returning back to work or school Monday. Temperatures will be in the low 40s with highs struggling to make out of the 50s Monday afternoon.
