Images capture high water across the Houston area Sunday

it's been a soggy Mother's Day, with high water in parts of the viewing area. These are some photos and videos from around Southeast Texas.

HOUSTON — It was a rainy Mother's Day across the Houston area.

A Flood Watch was in effect until 9 p.m., and there were Flash Flood Warnings for Harris, Ft. Bend, Brazoria and Chambers counties throughout the day. We also received reports of high water across the Houston area.

As the water rose, we started to see photos and videos of those high water spots. KHOU 11 photojournalist Nathan Kvinge captured a couple of images of flooding. One was in the area of 529 at 290, which was closed for a period of time, but then opened back up. He also captured images of a driver who was stranded in Montgomery County.
