HOUSTON — While weather conditions were perfect and "fall-like" for Thanksgiving, that could change as we head back to work and school next week. We'll still have two more quiet days on Sunday and Monday with increasing clouds and slightly warmer temperatures. However, weather models are suggesting that rain chances are in store for southeast Texas by mid-week.
A coastal low will form off the South Texas coast and will begin to edge northward toward the Houston area through the beginning of next week. We could see rain beginning as early as Tuesday and become more widespread and scattered by Wednesday and Thursday.
We could see rain accumulations up to one inch with isolated areas of two inches possible. This could create ponding on roadways and slick conditions. Keep in mind that the heavier showers and storms will be on Wednesday and Thursday.
For the next seven days, temperatures will gradually warm through next week. Morning temperatures will still be chilly, in the 40s and 50s. We will see afternoon temperatures back into the 70s with increasing rain chances beginning on Tuesday. Heavier rain potential will be on Wednesday and Thursday with showers lasting through end of the work week.
