HOUSTON — The first pitch of Game 1 of the World Series happens at 7:03 p.m. on Friday at Minute Maid Park when the Astros meet the Phillies.
Don't get your hopes high on the roof being open. There is a chance of rain in the forecast and although it will push through and be completely out of downtown by game time, a stray lingering shower is a possibility.
Timeline
Friday, 7 a.m. | We'll see cloudy skies with a few prefrontal showers. Not anything measurable, but there may be enough to make the roads slick for the morning commute.
Friday, 10 a.m. | A cold front arrives in our western counties. A few strong storms will be possible.
Friday, noon | The cold front will work its way through Harris County and drop rain over Minute Maid. Some of these storms could linger as late as 3 p.m. That could make for a damp start to Street Fest, which begins at 4 p.m. Street Fest includes live music, food trucks, yard games, photo ops, and more ahead of the first pitch.
Friday, 3 p.m. | The cold front begins to push east and most of the storms in town wind down.
Friday, 5 p.m. | Light showers continue, but the bulk of the rain should start to move east.
Friday, 7 p.m.| Let's play ball! Just in time for the first pitch, rain begins to taper and most of the area starts to dry. A few lingering showers will still be possible, but thunderstorms should be to our east by game time.
