TOMBALL, Texas -- Areas northwest of Houston were hit by flash flooding early Wednesday morning, just one day after southwest Houston was hit hard by flooding.

According to Meteorologist Chita Johnson, as of 10 a.m. the good news is the worst of the heavy rain was moving off to the east.

Street flooding was reported along Huffmeister and on FM 2920. FM 2920 west of Highway 249 remained shut down in both directions as of 10 a.m.

There were no reports of injuries or serious damages due to the morning's storms. Some school districts canceled or delayed classes, however, as the worst of the weather hit during the morning commute.

In Magnolia, some residents were trapped in a neighborhood due to flood conditions along Superior Road north of FM 1488. As of 10:50 a.m. they still could not get in or out of the neighborhood, located in the Lake Windcrest area.

The San Jacinto River Authority announced early Wednesday that they were releasing 8660 cubic feet per second from the Lake Conroe dam, the highest level in more than four years.
