HOUSTON — The Oaxaca Tourism Board has partnered with United Airlines and Aeropuertos Mexicanos to establish the first direct flight from Houston to Puerto Escondido, Mexico.
"This landmark services establishes Puerto Escondido as a growing hub for international travel, with this route connecting seamlessly through United Airlines' Houston hub to cities across the United States, including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, San Antonio, and Chicago," Grupo EuroAmerica said in a news release.
The new route will start flights in April 2025 from United's hub at George Bush International Airport. The weekly Saturday flights will be operated by United Express's partner, Mesa Airlines.
"Travelers can now experience the charm of Puerto Escondido with greater ease and convenience," Grupo EuroAmerica said.
They said Puerto Escondido's annual airport traffic has increased by 132% since 2019, accounting for nearly a million passengers each year.
"This growth highlights Puerto Escondido's appeal not ony as a surf destination but as a sought-after location for diverse tourists," Grupo EuroAmerica said.
