HOUSTON — The spring break season is upon us, and airport officials are getting ready for the big travel rush. Record numbers of passengers are expected at Hobby and Bush Intercontinental airports between March 7 and March 18.
"We're anticipating 2.3 million passengers to be traveling during the spring break period between the two airports,” Jim Szczesniak, Director of Aviation for Houston Airports, told KHOU 11 News.
That's an 8% increase compared to this time last year.
Officials said more than a million of those passengers will fly through Bush and Hobby within the first five days of spring break.
