HOUSTON — One person was killed and another was injured when a car ran into a bus stop and a pole on Westheimer Road Monday night, according to METRO Houston.
This happened just before 7:30 p.m. near Briargrove Drive.
Houston police said a woman, 33, in a silver Hyundai Santa Fe was heading east on Westheimer when she lost control of her car and drove onto the sidewalk. She then hit a man, 40, and a woman who were waiting for a bus. Then the driver hit a light pole and came to a stop.
Both were taken to a hospital where the woman was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver showed signs of intoxication, according to police.
Police said the roadway would be closed for hours. It eventually reopened just before 1 p.m.
