HOUSTON — Major closures are planned again this weekend (Aug. 24-26) on the Southwest Freeway/I-69/Highway 59 at the 610 West Loop this weekend as construction continues on the interchange.
Here's what you need to know.
THE BIGGEST CLOSURE: Southwest Freeway/I-69/59 northbound - ALL lanes
What's closed: Crews will continue work on the I-610 West Loop/ I-69 Southwest Freeway interchange project this weekend along the I-69 Southwest Freeway northhbound mainlanes at I-610 West Loop. To facilitate the work, the Texas Department of Transportation will close all northbound mainlanes of I-69 Southwest between Chimney Rock and Weslayan beginning Saturday, August 24 at 5 a.m. until Monday, August 26 at 5 a.m.
Traffic will be detoured to the I-69 northbound connector ramp to I-610 southbound, exit Bellaire Blvd, U-turn at Bellaire Blvd. onto the I-610 Northbound Frontage Rd., turn right (east) onto Westpark Dr., continue on Westpark Dr. and turn left (North) at Weslayan St., then turn right (East) onto the I-69 Southwest northbound frontage road, and take the entrance ramp onto the I-69 northbound mainlanes.
Motorists should expect delays and may want to consider an alternate route. Police officers will be onsite to assist with traffic control.
