HOUSTON — We have an update to a major freeway closure we've been telling you about. Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway at 610 have reopened according to TxDOT.

TxDOT tweeted at a little after 8 p.m. that the southbound lanes were open. Earlier today, the northbound lanes opened back up.

They were both scheduled to remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday morning.

The closure was so crews can continue to work on the new 610 southbound bridge.

Other weekend closures

  • I-45 Gulf Freeway northbound lanes from Griggs to Telephone Road, two outside lanes will be closed from Friday at 8 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.
  • I-10 westbound at 45 will be shut down from Saturday 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.  610 may be your best bet around it.
