HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputy constables are investigating a fatal crash on Highway 249 in northwest Harris County Thursday night.
According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, it happened at 10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the tollway near Hicks, just north of FM 2920.
Investigators said a man in a gray Ford Explorer slammed into the back of a truck with traffic control lights. No one was in the traffic vehicle at the time.
The driver of the Explorer died at the scene, investigators said.
Investigators said speed appears to have been a factor, but it is not known if alcohol played a role.
