HOUSTON — Drivers on the I-10 East Freeway need to be aware of a large weekend closure.
The Texas Department of Transportation is closing I-10 eastbound from Lockwood Drive to I-69 Eastex Freeway. The closure starts at 9 p.m. on Friday and ends at 5 a.m. Monday.
Drivers going eastbound on I-10 will exit at Lockwood Drive during the closure. The Waco Street onramp to I-10 eastbound will also be closed. Detour signs will be posted.
Delays were expected. Plan ahead and try to avoid the area by using 610 North Loop, I-45 eastbound or surface streets like Lyons Avenue or Clinton Drive.
