610 North Loop shut down near Eastex Freeway heading east due to tanker crash

Damage on the ramp caused by the crash led to several closures and detours.

HOUSTON — The 610 North Loop was shut down at the Eastex Freeway due to a crash involving a tanker truck Monday morning, according to Houston TranStar.

This happened just before 11 a.m. heading east. No other vehicles were involved.

The Texas Department of Transportation said there will be emergency closures in place to allow crews to repair the bridge damaged from the crash.

The North Loop eastbound lanes will remain closed at the Eastex Freeway. Drivers will detour by heading east on the Loop and then to the Eastex direct connectors.

The Eastex Freeway northbound connector ramp to the Loop will also be closed. Drivers will detour by heading north on Eastex to the North Loop heading east.

Two right mainlanes heading south on the Eastex near the North Loop will remain closed.
