HOUSTON — The North Freeway is shut down heading inbound near the Beltway 8 due to a crash involving two 18-wheelers Friday morning.

According to Houston Transtar, this happened just before 4 a.m. near Greens Road.

The closure is expected to last through the morning rush hour so those coming in from Spring or The Woodlands should plan accordingly.

The HOV lane is also not an option since one of the big rigs went over the retainer wall into those lanes.

KHOU 11 traffic expert Jennifer Reyna said drivers can still take the feeder road which is open or the Hardy Toll Road.

However, the Hardy Toll Road is also a suggested alternate route for those looking to avoid a deadly crash on the Eastex Freeway so there could be increased traffic there as well.
