North Freeway shut down heading north due to fiery crash, hazmat spill near Crighton Road

The North Freeway is shut down heading north due to a fiery crash and hazmat spill in Montgomery County Tuesday morning.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — The North Freeway is shut down heading north due to a fiery crash and hazmat spill in Montgomery County Tuesday morning, according to Houston Transtar.

This happened at about 4:45 a.m. near Crighton Road. The driver survived the crash.

According to Transtar, this involves a truck that was heading south, crossed the highway and burned on the northbound frontage road.

KHOU 11 traffic expert Jennifer Reyna said there are no great alternative routes. Motorists can take the Eastex Freeway or Conroe Porter Road to try and avoid it.
