HOUSTON — A motorcycle rider was killed early Sunday in a hit-and-run crash on the Southwest Freeway, according to the Houston Police Department.
It happened just after 4 a.m. near the Bissonnet exit.
Investigators said a white BMW traveling at a high rate of speed crashed into the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was heading inbound when the car slammed into him, sending the Harley Davidson across the freeway and onto the feeder road.
The 37-year-old victim was ejected and he died at the scene.
The driver of the BMW lost control, crossed the grassy area and then ran off on foot.
Police are trying to identify the driver of the BMW who left the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division at 713-247-4072.
