HOUSTON — The Katy Freeway has reopened near T.C. Jester after a crash involving an 18-wheeler early Monday, according to Houston Transtar.
Views from Transtar cameras show the big rig on its side under the T.C. Jester bridge.
This happened just before 12:30 a.m. in the westbound, or outbound lanes. Two eastbound lanes were also blocked for a while. The crash was cleared just before 6:45 a.m.
Cameras showed the contents of the big rig being offloaded onto a flatbed trailer before they could upright it.
Traffic was being diverted into the Cottage Grove neighborhood.
KHOU 11 traffic expert Jennifer Reyna recommends motorists avoid the area and take Memorial Drive or Hempstead as an alternate route.
