HOUSTON — The Gulf Freeway has reopened in Galveston County after a truck crashed into a retaining wall shifting it into a lane of traffic, according to Houston Transtar.

This happened just after 6 a.m. heading south near Hughes. The freeway was closed in both directions and traffic was being diverted onto the frontage roads.

The truck was carrying tires which also have to be cleared before the lanes can be reopened.
