Truck's load hits pedestrian bridge over South Loop, shutting down multiple westbound lanes

HOUSTON — There’s a big traffic alert you'll want to know about if you’re out and about today. A truck’s load has struck a bridge along the South Loop, causing multiple lane closures.

It’s happening at the South Loop Westbound near Kirby. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, a load being hauled hit the pedestrian bridge that crosses into NRG Park.

From Houston Transtar cameras, you can see a second truck hauling a load that appears to have cleared the bridge in front of the one that's struck it.

At this point, we don’t have word of any injuries. Multiple lanes of 610 westbound are shut down. TxDOT said crews are on the way.
