HOUSTON — There’s a major traffic alert on the northwest side of town. A wreck involving multiple vehicles has all westbound main lanes of the North Sam Houston Tollway shut down at Fairbanks North Houston.
According to KHOU 11 traffic expert Jennifer Reyna, the wreck has a backup that goes back miles and it could be there for hours.
The shutdown is from Hollister all the way to Fairbanks North Houston. Life Flight had to land on the freeway and an investigation is underway.
At this point, we don't have word of the extent of any injuries.
Take I-45 as your alternate route to get around it.
It’s also having heavy impacts on Highway 249, the Tomball Parkway, so you may want to get on the feeder road.
