HOUSTON — UPDATE: Houston TranStar reported the Katy Freeway westbound lanes at Chimney Rock reopened at 9:55 a.m.

An early morning crash shut down the Katy Freeway headed westbound at Chimney Rock Road, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD said the crash happened around 3 a.m. and involved three vehicles. One person was taken to a hospital in critical condition. There were no other injuries reported.
The freeway is expected to reopen after first responders clean off the roadway, police said.
