HOUSTON — If you have to drive along the North Freeway this weekend, you'll want to be aware of this closure.
Texas Department of Transportation crews shut down nearly all northbound and southbound lanes at Greens Road.
Only one lane will remain open while crews work.
It's part of an ongoing construction project aimed at improving the stretch of I-45 from the North Loop to Cypresswood Drive.
Several entrance and exit ramps will be closed, too.
- Northbound Entrance Ramp from Beltway 8-North. Total Closure. Closed continuously from 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23 to 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26. Traffic will proceed thru the Greens Rd. Intersection and utilize the entrance ramp south of Rankin Rd. to enter IH-45 NB main lanes.
- Northbound from FM-525/Aldine Bender/Fallbrook to Rankin Rd. 3 Outside Lane(s). Closed continuously from 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23 to 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26. (Two Lanes will remain open at all times).
- Southbound from Rankin Rd to FM-525/Aldine Bender/Fallbrook. 3 Outside Lane(s). Closed continuously from 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23 to 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26.
- Southbound Entrance Ramp from Rankin Rd. Total Closure. Closed continuously from 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23 to 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26. Traffic will proceed along the southbound frontage road and enter the main lanes at the next available entrance ramp north of Greens Road.
- Southbound Entrance Ramp from Airtex Blvd. Total Closure. Closed continuously from 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23 to 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26. Traffic will proceed along the southbound frontage road and enter the main lanes at next available entrance ramp just north of Grens Road.
- Southbound Exit Ramp To Greens Rd. Total Closure. Closed continuously from 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23 to 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26. Traffic will utilize the FM 525/Aldine Bender exit ramp and proceed through the U-turn and travel north to access Greens Road.
