HOUSTON — If you’re planning to drive along Highway 146 at the Fred Hartman Bridge on Wednesday, either give yourself plenty of extra time or find a different route.
That’s because The Texas Department of Transportation says emergency road work will continue after damage was discovered on Tuesday.
The issue is on the northbound lanes. Two lanes in that direction are blocked off.
The City of Baytown said the repairs will last overnight, with crews hoping to have the work complete by the morning commute.
Want to get around it? If you’re heading to 146 from 225 heading east, you could take Beltway 8 north to hit I-10 to 330 and get on 146 from there on the other side of the bridge. If you’re heading north on 146 from La Porte, you could avoid it by taking 225 eastbound to hit 225 and heading north on Beltway 8 to I-10 to get around it.
