HOUSTON — At least one person is dead after a crash along the North Freeway near Beltway 8 early Monday, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
Precinct 4 said their investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen. The driver was speeding when he crashed into a tree.
The driver died following his injuries. Deputies said a juvenile passenger was taken to the hospital. The passenger was also found to be armed and will be charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
According to Houston Transtar, the crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. on the northbound feeder road. The road remains closed as of 5:45 a.m.
The frontage road is expected to be closed through part of the morning rush hour.
