HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A deadly crash brought inbound traffic to a standstill on Highway 290 Thursday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
This happened just after 5:45 a.m. near Tegle. The freeway was closed for hours but eventually reopened at 9:30 a.m. According to Houston Transtar, the crash involved two vehicles.
The sheriff's office said a woman was in a stalled vehicle when a larger pickup truck hit the back of her car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Views from Air 11 showed the back end of the woman's car completely smashed in. There was a large debris field on the roadway slowing traffic.
