If you look up at the right time tonight, you could see the ISS over Houston

It's scheduled to be visible for six minutes tonight beginning at 8:49 p.m. But if you miss it, there's another chance on Sunday!

HOUSTON — If you look up at the exact right time tonight, you could catch the International Space Station as it moves over Houston.

According to NASA, the ISS will be visible for about six minutes starting at 8:49 p.m. It should appear in the west-northwest and disappear over the south-southeast.

According to KHOU 11 Chief Meteorologist David Paul, conditions are good for viewing as there’s little cloud cover.  The Saharan dust may dim the light of the ISS though.

If you miss it tonight, you still have a chance to see it on Sunday, but if you blink, you may miss it.  It’s only supposed to be visible Sunday for two minutes starting at 8:50 p.m.

Here's a page where you can track the ISS whenever it's visible over Houston.

If you do see it and get photos or videos, share them with us through the Near Me feature of our app.

Another cloud of Saharan dust will blanket the Atlantic over the next week. A large factor in why the NHC expects no new development over the next 7 days. We are however, moving into the statistically active time of hurricane season, which means things can change quickly out there. KHOU 11 News Tim Pandajis Kim Castro KHOU Chita Craft KHOU Pat Cavlin
