Texas A&M's Lindon Victor finishes 16th in Olympic decathlon

Texas A&M's NCAA Decathlon champion Lindon Victor of Grenada recorded a 16th place finish at the the Olympics. Victor's score of 7,998 was better than 16 other competitiors in Rio.

Texas A&M's NCAA Decathlon champion Lindon Victor of Grenada recorded a 16th place finish at the the Olympics. Victor's score of 7,998 was better than 16 other competitiors in Rio.

American Ashton Eaton won his second consecutive gold medal in the decathlon, setting an Olympic record with 8,893 points. Eaton is now the current World Record and Olympic Record holder in the decathlon.

Three other Aggies were in action on the track on Thursday, all in the women's 4x100 meter relay. For Jamaica, Simone Facey ran the first leg of the relay and helped secure a spot in the finals for Jamaica, as they ran a 41.79, good for second place in the prelims.

For Nigeria, Jennifer Madu and Olivia Ekpone both ran on the 4x100 relay that recorded the sixth-best time in the prelims.

The finals of the women's 4x100 will be at 8:15 pm on Friday night on KAGS.
