HOUSTON — El Clásico de México is coming to Houston.
The wildly popular friendly match event between Chivas of Guadalajara and Mexico City's Club América will be held at NRG Stadium on Oct. 13, the game’s promoter Primetime Sports announced on Monday.
All time, including official and friendly matches, América and Chivas have faced off 256 times with 96 wins in favor of América, 79 for Chivas and 81 draws
Last year’s match drew more than 86,000 fans at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The game also has drawn more than 60,000 fans in both Chicago and Los Angeles.
Organizers also say the event includes a fan festival.
