HOUSTON — If you were wondering how Houston Texans wide receiver and former UH Cougar Tank Dell was recovering after being wounded in a shooting last month, check out the short video below shot by KHOU 11’s Zack Tawatari on Tuesday morning.
Dell was an innocent bystander in a shooting at a restaurant in Florida on April 28. It was a shooting that injured nine other people. Dell’s injury was said to be minor and the team said he’d make a full recovery.
The video posted Tuesday by Tawatari showed something that may seem familiar to Texans fans – a completed pass from quarterback CJ Stroud to Dell.
The completion came in the first rep of 7-on-7s during OTAs, or organized team activities, and you can see it in the video below.
Dell was also caught on video doing drills and, by all accounts, moving around perfectly fine.
Great news for Dell, the Texans, and fans who were wishing him a speedy recovery!
“We're just happy that he's here, happy that he's back out, being able to do what he loves doing as playing football,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said following Tuesday’s practice. “So it's fun to see him running around right, being the same player he's been before, he's making plays, been a dynamic player for us on everyone and everyone is excited to see team back up.”
Here is more from Ryans following practice.
