HOUSTON — It's been known that the Texans will have new uniforms next season, but we haven't gotten to get a glimpse of them, until now.
Team chairman and CEO, Cal McNair, posted a photo to Reddit showing Tank Dell and Nico Collins wearing the new jersey design.
The numbers appear to have a new font and there's a new style on the shoulders.
The helmets appear to be the same and it's unclear if the pants will still have the stripes along the side.
The photo of Collins and Dell shows them wearing Deep Steel Blue pants and Liberty White tops with the Deep Steel Blue helmet.
In the old version, the front of the Liberty White jerseys read "Texans" in blue letters but in the photo that McNair posted, the new ones say "Houston" in red lettering.
Another difference is the color of the numbers. In the old version, the numbers were red with blue trim. In the new ones, they're blue with red trim. There's also no blue collar on the new jerseys.
Stay tuned for more ... the rest of the uniforms are expected to be released in April.
McNair seems to have posted the photo in response to a reported leaked photo of the uniforms earlier in the day. In the post in which he posted the photo, he included a caption that said, "Leaked pic? How about a real photo of Nico and Tank!? Way more to come in April!"
The Texans are coming off a surprising season in which they beat the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs before losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round.
