J.J. Watt is now the iconic face of the Houston Texans, the most decorated player in franchise history and the NFL’s Man of the Year. But flashback to draft night in 2011 and the reception for Watt wasn’t so favorable.

In fact, most fans hated the pick at the time. And Watt has the proof:

That’s a whole lot of negativity for a player who quickly asserted himself as the NFL’s best defensive lineman. Watt didn’t comment on the picture but it is clearly something that struck a nerve with the Wisconsin product.

It is a smart reminder that fans aren’t always the best judge of how well a team’s draft should be regarded.
