Texans fall in primetime Halloween matchup against struggling Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The Houston Texans lost their third game of the season in a Thursday night matchup with the New York Jets.

Houston scored first and held a 7-0 halftime lead, but New York stormed back in the second half to win 21-13. Houston fell to 6-3 while New York moved to 3-6.

Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud was sacked eight times on the night and completed less than 50% of his passes -- he was 11 for 30 through the air.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rogers, on the other hand, threw for three touchdowns without throwing an interception.

Houston kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn missed two of his three kicks.

Texans running back Joe Mixon rushed for over 100 yards for the fourth straight game while wide receiver Tank Dell caught six passes for 126 yards. Mixon scored Houston's only touchdown of the game.

Defensive standout Will Anderson Jr. left the game with an ankle injury. The extent of the injury is unknown.
