HOUSTON — Houston Texans rookie defensive end Dylan Horton is stepping away from the team to take care of an unspecified health issue, he said in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement was posted to the Houston Texans' social media account.
It reads: “I’m currently dealing with a personal health matter that will keep me away from the team for an indefinite period of time. I want to thank my family, my teammates and the entire Houston Texans organization for the support and care they have already provided me. I will provide updates from time to time, but my main focus right now is on my health and recovery. Thank you and God bless.”
About Dylan Horton
Horton has played in all 10 games for the Texans so far this season. He's a native Texan. According to ESPN, he was born in Frisco and played in college at TCU. Horton was drafted by the Texans in the fourth round of the NFL draft through a trade with the Raiders.
He played his first two college at the University of New Mexico before transferring to TCU.
Horton played in the 2023 Senior Bowl and in 2022, he was honorable mention All-Big 12.
In high school, Dylan earned first-team all-district honors in 13-5A as a safety. He also lettered in basketball and competed in the long jump and high jump.
