HOUSTON — The Houston Texans are AFC South champs!
Because of Tennessee’s win against the Jags in Nashville Sunday, Jacksonville finished with a record of 9-8, a game behind Houston’s 10-7. That means Houston is alone at the top of the division and the Jacksonville Jaguars are eliminated.
The Texans have gone from worst in three straight seasons to first in the AFC South and will host a playoff game at NRG Stadium on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. against the Cleveland Browns.
It'll be a rematch of the teams' Christmas Eve matchup that that the Browns won 36-22 at NRG Stadium. The difference this time around? Houston will have CJ Stroud at quarterback, while last time they met, he was still in concussion protocol and Case Keenum started for Houston.
Houston clinched a playoff spot with their 23-19 win over the Colts on Saturday.
