CANTON, Ohio — The 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class will have to wait just a little bit longer before being officially enshrined in Canton, Ohio.

Storms moving through the area have led to a delay in Saturday's ceremony at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The ceremony was originally scheduled to begin at noon.

“Due to heavy rain in the area, the start time for Enshrinement of the Class of 2024 will be delayed. More details will be provided as they become available,” the Pro Football Hall of Fame posted on social media just after 10:30 a.m.

A sign in the stadium warns, “Severe weather in the area. Please take shelter.”

Then at 12:12 p.m., the gates were opened at the stadium for fans to enter. The ceremony began at 12:30 p.m.

Forecast

According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely and thunderstorms are possible before 2 p.m. in the Canton area. Thunderstorms are mainly expected between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

KHOU 11's Jason Bristol posted the following update just after noon.

"There's some movement here at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Support staff moving into positions. We may be seeing an induction ceremony here at some point..."
