HOUSTON — A former Houston Texans star has found a new home after being traded to the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, according to multiple reports Wednesday morning.

According to NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, DeAndre Hopkins is being traded from the Tennessee Titans to the reigning two-time Super Bowl champions in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick that can become a fourth-rounder.

The deal is still being finalized.

Hopkins goes from one of Houston’s division rivals to a team they could potentially face during the AFC playoffs.

While Hopkins is no longer the same caliber player he once was during his time with the Texans, he still offers a veteran presence for the Chiefs who are looking to become the first-ever team to win three Super Bowls in a row.

Hopkins goes from playing with quarterbacks Will Levis and Mason Rudolph in Tennessee to Patrick Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl MVP and two-time NFL MVP.

Hopkins is in his 12th season in the NFL after being taken 27th overall in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Texans. He spent seven seasons with the team before being traded to Arizona in March 2020.

Hopkins is a five-time Pro Bowler and was named to first-team All-Pro twice. He has more than 900 receptions for more than 12,500 yards and almost 80 touchdowns.

Fans took to social media as news of the trade broke early Wednesday morning with many highlighting how Kansas City has added yet another weapon to their potent offense.
