MINNEAPOLIS — When things are going well, good things happen. And things are going well for the Astros right now. And good things are happening.
Exhibit A -- rookie Joe Loperfido’s catch in right field on Friday night against the Twins in Minnesota.
It happened in the bottom of the eighth inning with Houston holding onto a comfortable 10-5 lead over their hosts.
The Twins were looking to cut into that lead when Minnesota’s Willi Castro hit a deep fly ball with a runner aboard and Loperfido pulled off what MLB called the catch of the year. Hands down.
Houston held onto their five-run lead at that point, and would hold on for the 13-12 win.
It wasn't all good news for the Astros on Friday night, though. Earlier, Houston's Jose Altuve had to leave the game after getting hit by a pitch. At this point, we don't know the extent of his injury.
