Houston Astros' Yordan Alvarez hits a one-run triple during the sixth inning of a baseball game against the Seattle Mariners, Sunday.

HOUSTON — Astros' slugger Yordan Alvarez has accomplished a lot in his big league career, but on Sunday he did something he had never done in his six seasons in MLB, Alvarez hit for the cycle.

Alvarez hit a first-inning single against Seattle, followed by an upper-deck home run in the fourth, a triple in the sixth and then finally, an eighth-inning double.

It’s another highlight in a solid season for Alvarez. So far, he’s hitting .293 with 19 home runs and 52 RBIs and is a big reason the Astros have clawed their way back into first place in the American League West after a slow start.

The bad news of the day -- Houston lost to Seattle, 6-4, and are back to a first-place virtual tie with the Mariners.

Here's the final hit that completed the cycle -- an eighth-inning double.

And here was the upper-deck shot in the fourth.
