Another day, another award for Houston Astros’ second baseman Jose Altuve.
The All-Star took home his third consecutive Silver Slugger Award Thursday as the top offensive second baseman in the American League.
He is the first player in franchise history to win three straight Silver Sluggers and the third to win at least three in his career, joining Hall of Famer Craig Biggio (1989, 1994-95, 1997-98) and Jeff Bagwell (1994, 1997, 1999).
Altuve was named a finalist for the AL MVP Award Monday. On Wednesday, he took home the Majestic “Always Game” Award and was named the MLB Player of the Year and the AL Most Outstanding Player at the Players Choice Awards.
Earlier this offseason, Altuve was named the 2016 Sporting News Player of the Year, voted on by Major League Baseball players.
