McLennan County is cracking down on human trafficking and prostitution, and an undercover operation this month led to dozens of arrests in the Waco area.
During the most recent sting, which consisted of a four-week investigation, officials arrested 61 offenders, one of whom they say was prominent Tomball area baseball coach Ray Deleon.
Deleon is known for running the successful Banditos Baseball Club in Tomball, which has produced a number of Division I athletes and Major League Baseball players over the years.
Detectives say Deleon was in Waco for a baseball tournament on June 17 when he was arrested and charged for soliciting a prostitute. Detectives say Deleon had requested a person he believed to be a prostitute to come to his hotel before a game but was greeted by police instead.
“When KHOU reached out to Banditos Baseball, they said, "We are not commenting on that."
None of the parents at the facility Wednesday would comment on the situation. KHOU also reached out to Deleon but did not hear back.
